Steve Jobs got fired from his own company, by John Sculley, the man he hired to be CEO of Apple!
Jobs was the real source of Apple’s vision, the man in charge of the team developing the Macintosh, Apple’s revolutionary product at that time. In 1984, the Macintosh came into the market and received great reviews, but had disappointing sales. This put a financial burden on the company and pitted his team against other parts of the company, which made more money. This financial strain on the company and complaints from members of his own team, affected his relationship with Sculley, and led to a power struggle. In 1985 Apple’s board sided with Sculley and fired Jobs! Jobs realized that he loved what he did and decided to start all over again. In 1985 he launched a new company, and with his characteristic flair, he called it NeXT. He bought Lucas Film and renamed it Pixar Animation Studios. In 1996 Apple Computer acquired NeXT and Jobs returned to Apple. In 1997 he became CEO of Apple. |
