about the topic:
My project is about a man with a vision, fallible so much so that he got fired from Apple, the company that he created. But like a phoenix rising from ashes, he founded another company, called NeXT, and created software that would be the future Apple platform. He later sold NeXT to Apple and regained its helm, thus becoming a true leader in the process.
research question:
What were the conditions and situations that led to the return of Steve Jobs to Apple? What was his thinking and legacy that changed the company's direction, and how did that affect personal computing?
thesis statement:
After Steve Jobs was
fired from Apple in 1985, he started another company, called NeXT, and developed unique
leadership skills. When he returned to Apple in 1996, he led the company from
the brink of bankruptcy to profitability, changing the direction of product
design and development. My research and historical analysis substantiates the unprecedented impact of his leadership and lasting legacy on global culture and the way people use computers, phones, and other types of technology.
how it relates to the nhd theme:
Steve Jobs was an effective leader and left an enduring legacy. He was a visionary who was ahead of his time in thinking and its execution. After being fired from Apple in 1985, he changed and developed excellent leadership qualities, gaining unique abilities to understand the needs of people, and developing type of products that will satisfy that need, hence creating ideas that people wanted, before the products even existed. He was a rough and harsh boss, but that is what made him so successful. He was assertive, but valued consensus. He led Apple like a start-up company, and made it incredibly collaborative. Jobs left a lasting legacy and a different style of thinking when creating products. His products are being used all around the world for communication, entertainment, e-commerce, and many other things.
